What Is 80 Day Obsession?
80 Day Obsession is a fitness and nutrition program brought to us by Beachbody and Autumn Calabrese. It’s unlike any other program I’ve seen, because it features both timed nutrition (eating food in specific combinations at specific intervals) and 80 different workouts that build on each other. *If you have been around Beachbody products in the past, please note that this one is not available via DVD. It’s only available on via streaming on Beachbody on Demand. *
- The program is 13 weeks long and is a total of 97 days (you’ll have Sundays off from the workouts).
- There are three phases of 80 Day Obsession and each phase builds upon the previous one.
- The workouts focus heavily on toning your abs and developing a firm round booty. They range between 45 and 60 minutes and can be modified.
Who Is 80 Day Obsession For?
If you can commit to a 3 month program and want to…..
- Add curves without BULKING up.
- Boost your metabolism.
- Build LEAN muscles.
- Get a great workout from home lead by an expert trainer.
Then 80 Day Obsession is for you!
What are the 80 Day Obsession Workouts Like?
The workouts range in length from 45 to 60 minutes and are total body workouts that use sliders, weights, your body weight and dumbbells. This is designed as an advanced program. However, there are modifications provided and if you’re not an exercise pro, don’t let that stop you from committing to the program! If you show up committed, you will see results!
No two workouts are never the same. There are 80 different workouts that were filmed live with the cast. Therefore, you’re going to be going through the same things the cast went through, as they went through it. As a bonus, there is a behind the scenes style show available where the cast shares their triumphs and challenges each week.
There are three workout phases in 80 Day Obsession. The workout plan is 6 days a week with 1 rest day.
Phase One: In phase one you’ll learn proper form and how to use your resistance bands and sliders. The focus is on building up strength and consistency with proper form for maximum results.
This is the type of workout you’ll see in phase one:

I never would have anticipated that I’d be EXCITED to repeat this 80 Day program. I was thrilled to be invited as a test group member but would have guessed I’d be anxious towards then end to be DONE with such hard work and a specific meal plan. I like my freedom, thank you very much, and I’ve figured out how to maintain a decent fitness level at this point. . I was anxious towards the end…anxious because I didn’t want it to end!! The specific plan has actually brought me MORE peace & freedom ironically! There’s no stress about what & how much to eat to feel great PLUS get insane results. . The timed nutrition has really simplified meal planning as I have basic parameters for each meal but can eat what I want (that’s healthy and whole foods, of course). I don’t feel tethered to a meal plan, I actually feel set free from confusion or guesswork. Meal planning takes so little time. My grocery list looks essentially the same each week. . You see, discipline EQUALS freedom. . So even though it was “fun” to not follow a plan for a week, that quickly got old. I had my wine in Vegas, I had a couple treats but they didn’t knock my socks off & I found myself looking forward to my trusty fitness routine and nutrition schedule today! I may allow SOME wiggle room as I’m not contracted to follow to a T in my second round of this 80 Day program but i don’t see any good reason to not commit at a high level once again. I feel too good right now.☺️
Phase Two: In phase 2, you’ll begin adding compound movements (ex. a dead lift and a squat.) You’ll also be adding heavier weights, but will also use your body weight for many of the moves.
This is the type of workout you’ll see in phase two:

I’m not training for a race. I’m not trying to fit into a certain pair of jeans. I’m not preparing for a competition. I’m not trying to set a new record. I’m not trying to impress you. I’m not trying to judge you. I’m actively loving the body i was given by treating it as well as i can. I’m not allowing my emotions & feeling any authority over food choices. I’m showing my children what hard work & discipline looks like. I’m showing my daughter to love her body for what gives her the ability to do rather than how it looks. I’m giving others hope. I’m showing myself what can happen when i don’t give up. I’m naturally improving my mental health, mood, energy, focus, creativity and confidence. I’m extending my years, and the QUALITY of those years. I’m training for life.💜 . . . . . . . . . #Wcw #homeworkout #corestrength #homeworkouts #coreworkouts #abworkouts #fitnessmotivation #veganmuscle #fitmum#ukfitmum #fitmom #momswithmuscle #80do #megs80do #80dayobsession #bootygains #plantpowered #plantbuilt #vegangains #momswithmuscle #momswholift #ihatecardio #ilovecarbs
Phase Three: Phase 3 is intense, but you’ll be ready for it. You’ll begin mixing in plyometric moves with the compound moves from phase 2.
What Equipment Do I Need For 80 Day Obsession?
Here’s a list of the things you’ll need for 80 Day Obsession.
- Beachbody On Demand Subscription and a way to stream your workout.
- Dumbells in three different weights (light, medium and heavy)
- Resistance bands
- Floor mat (optional, but you’ll be doing mat work)
- Foam roller (optional, but super helpful).
What is the 80 Day Obsession Nutrition Plan Like?
Before I get too far into the nutrition plan, yes, there is a vegan option. It is what I used while I was in the 80 Day Obsession Coach’s Test Group.
If you have followed the 21 Day Fix container nutrition plan, the 80 Day Obsession plan will feel similar to you in a lot of ways. Both plans were developed by Autumn and there is overlap in what you eat between the two plans. The difference is that the 80 Day Obsession plan utilizes timed nutrition (eating specific combinations of foods at specific times) to maximize your results.
The provided guide tells you how to calculate your calorie bracket (A, B, C or D) and each bracket tells you how many of each containers to eat daily. You’ll eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, replace one meal with super-food filled Shakeology and typically eat within every three hours.
I found meal prepping on Sundays to be a game changer. While from the outside looking, it might seem as though this program is really limiting, but I found so much freedom!

I recommend utilizing Beachbody’s supplements for maximum results. The 80 Day Workouts are going to work your body hard and the supplements will help with your recovery and give your body the extra fuel it needs.
- Recover helps reduce exercise induced muscle soreness.
- Energize will give you a surge of energy before your workouts.
- Recharge helps support overnight muscle recovery.

Are you trusting the process? . At 37 years old, with a degree in kinesiology, a personal training certification and successful coaching business, I finally let go of my own overanalyzing thoughts and followed through with a plan. I took this photo this morning and got to thinking how prior to taking on this program I had gotten pretty good about staying fit and for the most part, staying in a routine of maintaining a healthy weight. . And I was OK with that. But that’s the thing, I was just OK. It has been a real lesson in faith to commit to a program and nutrition plan blindly and 100%. . There are so many moments along the way, especially in the very beginning that incited doubt and that is where most people get off track….that’s where i would start to make tiny adjustments in the past. . Honestly, I just think we’re completely unrealistic in our expectations of when change should it happen and what it should look like. That goes for pretty much everything in our lives. . It’s really rewarding to see this progress. Not because I am insanely motivated to be ripped and look any sort of way. There is nothing wrong with the way I looked before. That’s not the point. . It was showing myself what I’m capable of when I commit to a process, show up consistently, and GROW through discipline. Discipline equals freedom. And I’m learning that lesson truly for the first time. . Commit to your fitness more for the purpose of showing your self what you’re made of. When your day-to-day thoughts, motivation and decisions are driven by your outward success goals you stand to risk achieving that major breakthrough. A mental breakthrough more importantly than a physical one. . I am looking for a 20 women to join me on February 26 as I take them through this 80 day transformation program.
